Company History

In 1979, after three years of custom remodeling in Seattle, Ed Palmer returned to Vashon to build houses on the island.  As his company's reputation for quality work, fair pricing and integrity continued to grow, Ed put together a group of craftsmen that would be the envy of any construction company.  With a crew of 21 carpenters, Ed Palmer Construction, Inc. has become Vashon Island's largest construction company and has earned a reputation that is second to none.  Satisfied customers have long been the trademark of the company and each and every one of the employees keeps that as a top priority.

Company Overview

Having a large and dedicated crew has enabled the company to handle multiple jobs and jobs of almost any size.  Ed relies on a system in which his foremen (most of whom have been with him for over 20 years) each have a job that is their only responsibility.  They are able to be on the job from the start to the finish and are not pulled away by the many things that may keep smaller contractors from being on the job as much as they should be.

Projects

We handle remodel jobs that range from repairs for as little as one hundred dollars to major remodels that have run over a million dollars.  Our custom home construction has run the gamut from small and elegant cabins all the way up to an 18,000 square foot mansion.  Most of the custom homes we build are between 2,400 and 4,500 square feet and range in price between $150 per square foot to $300 per square foot.
